All around 10/10

Pros: I’ve stayed here twice now and the place is always fabulous. From the lovely staff to the cleanliness, the beautiful property and outdoor spaces to the privacy of the beds. The bathrooms are also recently renovated and lovely. Great quality place, not your average hostel!

Cons: Nothing! Love it all

Solo travelling in Faro

Pros: This is my second time travelling solo and staying in a hostel, and it’s been another great experience. Casa Algoa is very centrally located, which makes getting around super easy. The staff are available 24/7, very pleasant, and always helpful. The hostel is also clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend it!

Cons: I rented a towel during my stay. Although it had been washed, it had several dark spots on it, which made it feel less fresh than expected.

Great little hostel in a very nice area of Faro with excellent kitchen and rooftop terrace

Pros: The shared facilities were were very roomy and super clean. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook breakfast and dinner every day. The location was fantastic, very central to all the marina and train station bits plus lots of restaurants and shops were just around the corner.. The rooftop terrace was excellent! The neighbourhood felt very upscale.

Cons: I had a private room, the ensuite wasn't great. There was no hot water in the sink (which leaked everywhere). I didn't even want to step foot in the shower. I used the shared sinks and shower upstairs and they were great. I travelled in February and was worried the room might be chilly at night. But there was a really good space heater that kept the space cosy and warm.

Great Hostel in a great location

Pros: Everything from the free tea n coffee to the fridge and the reception staff to the cleaners and the cleanliness of the hostel. Loved it so much I going back for another 4 days

Loved the spacious, light dorm! Very comfortable bed bunks :)

Pros: One of the few hostels, that has a lovely light and fresh looking dorm vibe. Very spacious, loved the 2 balconies. The shared livingspaces are very divers and fun (yet much darker as I thought). Great bathroom/showers: choose the single ones! Good location and easy to find.

Pros: A great location, comfortable rooms and friendly hostel. They often do dinners each night, organise day trips and very helpful! It's a great location near shops, restaurants and minimal traffic noise.

A charming stay in Faro.

Pros: The hostel is full of charm, as the oldest (first!) hostel in Faro. The staff were warm and helpful and I enjoyed the group dinners at the sister hostel, Hostellicious. The WhatsApp group for the hostel is also helpful. I liked that it was not a party hostel, but still social and family vibes. Cool diversity of guests. I booked a private room and found it value for money, very peaceful and quiet at night and clean.

Definitely will come back.

Pros: Great guest house, everything very clean. Well maintained house.

Short but sweet stay. Fun people. Will definitely stay here again next til in Faro.

Pros: This hostel has a central location and a great atmosphere. A really cosy place and very friendly and chatty staff. Good facilities, there’s even a fireplace and a washing machine!

Cons: There was quite a bit of noise from the street in the dorm room. Maybe it was just the room I stayed in. Next time I’ll ask for a room facing away from the Main Street.

Hands down one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in Europe

Pros: The location was perfect. The staff were very helpful. I felt very safe. All the beds were very clean. There was a heater provided the bathroom was immaculate and there were different bathrooms to choose from so it felt private. It was situated in an old building which felt very authentic and Portuguese.

Cons: Nothing, just that I missed it first time because the building was authentic
