Maria Guest house

Pros: The location is perfect the owner is fabulous... Rooms where clean and comfortable Tea and coffee making facilities included. A separate lounge and terrace which guests can use For relaxation. All in all a great stay we will definitely stay again on our return.

Perfect for a couples of day retreat

Pros: Location was excellent, the property was clean and had good amenities. Beds were comfortable and the balcony was a lovely touch.

Cons: The property is dated, our bathroom could do with an update as the shower screen was loose and big shower didn’t work, we also did not have an extractor fan.

Pros: Maria is a wonderful host. Her place has a fantastic location...right in the heart of the historical area, and surrounded by restaurants and shops. The tourist office and main beach are only a few meters from her place. The rooms, bathroom, living room and dining area for communal use are spacious and tastefully decorated. WiFi is strong. Taxi stands are walkable from her place.

Maria is the best

Pros: Absolutely amazing host. Extremely friendly. Rooms comfortable and very clean. Practical for beach and restaurants and strip. Not too noisy. Would always return here given the location and friendliness.

Pros: October 2025 was the fourth time in four years that we've stayed at Maria's Guesthouse for a week's holiday. If you want sunbeds and a pool with a bar holiday then this is not for you. But if you want exceptional comfort, very attractive surroundings and a little more space than one gets in an ordinary hotel, then we highly recommend Maria's to you. We love some nightlife but don't want to be kept awake ALL night long - Maria's is a five minute walk from the party area of Albufeira Old Town, so close enough to walk to for the fun but far enough away so that one can get back to the quieter accommodation. Maria's is a wonderful place to relax and unwind, very beautiful, and Maria is very helpful. Enjoy, as we have.

Pros: Perfect location, plenty of restaurants next to the Guest House and 2min from the beach.

Close as you get to everything with a wonderful host.

Pros: Maria was excellent in welcoming us in, showing us the common area, our room and ensuring that all our needs were met and to call her if we needed anything else. She allowed us in a little earlier than the official check-in time. Part of the common area had a sun room which we enjoyed over a snack. Location is a few minutes from the famous beach through the tunnel and central to all the stores and action. We were able to borrow a towel for the beach. Room also had a small balcony overlooking the street with all the shops and restaurants.

Cons: As we were in bed early (9-10 pm) having done lots during each day, the local restaurants with music and chatter could be heard, which is common for this area and also because the place is so close to all the action. With this being an older building, space for bedrooms was a little tight but managable and the extra common-shared area, made up for that, though.

Pros: We had everything we needed and it was spotless. Fantastic location. Stayed before and we will be returning next year

Amazing, would definitely recommend!

Pros: Maria is absolutely amazing, she was so kind and welcoming and stayed up to make sure she was there when we arrived after a late flight. The room was lovely, the air con worked really well, and the bathroom was well stocked and very clean. The location is absolutely amazing right in the middle of Albuferia old town. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough, we will definitely be staying here whenever we come back to Albuferia!

Great host, location, and room. The guesthouse is an ideal place to stay in Albufeira.

Pros: Maria was a very gracious and involved host, and the two reception rooms were lovely to sit in during the day or evening. Overall a wonderful stay, and would highly recommend. The location is perfect for the beach and the old town.
