Doce Faro Niente Apartment

Lovely mid winter trip to Faro

Pros: Lovely host who contacted us in advance and provided information on check-in process and a Faro tourist guide. Excellent location, close to town centre, train station and marina. The apartment was nicely decorated and had all facilities, including a stove, an oven, a microwave oven, a kettle, a toaster, a washing machine and dishwasher.

Cons: we liked everything

Pros: A really smashing location near bus and train stations, the harbour and main drag but very quiet. It was hot weather, but having a small outdoor pool in which to cool off in the October heat was a bonus. There was effective air conditioning. And Anna, the face of Dolce Faro Niente was warm and friendly and sympathetic to two weary old travellers. If you have children I would opt for downstairs rooms to keep a close eye on them in the pool. However as a couple of adults I would ask for upstairs rooms next time for privacy. Faro is a lovely wee place to explore, especially at sunset at the cathedral, and take the rickety train to Olhão for an alternative off beat experience. We loved it.

Cons: The fact we had to pay a 150 euro deposit on arrival in case we damaged anything. This wasn't mentioned on booking.com and since we are constantly being told to be aware of scams it made me slightly nervous. However it has since been returned 2 weeks later which seems an unnecessarily long time. The bathroom smells a little damp. A cafetiere would be useful. The curtains are directly onto the courtyard so people could look in if they are not closed.

A beautiful historic building. High ceiling, large windows, just beautiful

Pros: What an incredible old building. We lived the entrance lobby and the high ceilings and big archways. We also loved the location. It was a gem in the heart of the city.

Cons: Nothing. All great.

Five star faro

Pros: Location was excellent, near the restaurants and bars. Very good transport links. Apartment had everything you could need, light and airy, bed comfy. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip

Great apartment

Pros: The apartment was great. The location was fantastic

Cons: The have a very bad pigeon problem at the pool which was constantly go pigeon poo in it and around it.

Wonderful! Amazing apartment in an amazing location!

Pros: Wonderful apartment - team could not have been more helpful and friendly from start to finish. Very clean and a wonderful location near bars and restaurants. I cannot recommend Dolce Fara Niente Apartments enough.

Cons: Just a minor thing - would have been helpful to have a full length mirror!

Perfect minimalist apartment

Pros: The host was really nice and available in case of need. The apartment was as shown on photos but the weather didn’t allowed us to enjoy the pool. We loved the decoration and the appliances available.

Great apartment in a central location

Pros: Nice, spacious apartment in a great central location. Very quiet despite being near to good bars and restaurants. Comfy bed.

Great location near bus and train stations.

Pros: Lovely apartment, excellent fittings. Pool, but a bit cold to be swimming. Great location near old town, bus and train station in walking distance with luggage.

Cons: Bit of a hike to the rubbish disposal.

Superb

Pros: Everything was perfect. We absolutely loved the place, clean, nicely decorated with taste. We could feel the quality of the restoration being made at each level. It used to be a former hotel in an historical building now transformed into comfy and cosy apartments. The location is perfect too, a few steps away from the old city center which is adorable. As for the manager of the place, he was very helpful, friendly and very professional, making sure that we had everything we needed. Thanks to him. We recommend the place 100%.
